Welcome to my website! I am a graduate of Lock Haven University, with a major in Elementary/Middle Level education (4-8) with a concentration in mathematics. I also have a minor in psychology.  I have always had a love and fascination with mathematics, and I have tutored in math since my senior year of high school and throughout college. I have experience teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade math, as well as Algebra 1. My experience with each middle school grade level really helps me to see what math background each grade is coming from as well as where they are going in their math career.

In 2014, I made the move to Fredericksburg, VA to begin teaching 7th and 8th grade math at King George Middle School. From there, I moved to the DC area to teach 6th grade math for the 2018-2019 academic year. While DC can be an exciting place,  my heart remained in Fredericksburg. Therefore, when my Fiance proposed, I made the decision to move back so we could start our lives together in a place that felt more like home. Following this decision, I joined the Rodney Thompson Middle School team and look forward to working with the students in Stafford County.

 

Due to my love of working with children, I have worked with several summer camp programs and after school programs. I worked with the YMCA summer camp for two summers and with the YMCA after school program for over a year. I also served as a supervisor for two summers at a sleep-away summer camp, Trails End Camp.

To tell you a little bit more about myself, I am from the Pittsburgh, PA area and the youngest of three kids. I have danced since the age of three. I continued to dance and choreograph dance pieces in college as part of Dance Consort. Over my years, I have taken classes in 8 different disciplines. I was a dancer in several performances of the Nutcracker and different musicals. I have currently found a passion in running. I ran my first half marathon in the 2015 Pittsburgh Marathon and cannot wait to do more. Photography runs in my family and is a hobby of mine. My mother and sister both have their own photography businesses, and I have been a second shooter for weddings with them. I believe in giving to those in need. For this reason, I have donated my hair 5 times in the last 13 years, and I plan to continue doing so.
